Morning garden love

Every morning we get up very early, make the coffee and go to the garden for sitting quietly , reading a book and digging out some weeds. As we sit there we never know who may come by to visit. Butterflies, hummingbirds, sparrows, hawks, rabbits, squirrels, lizards and even a couple snakes.

We love watching the hawks and there have been a lot of them lately. They hunt the fields. They fly right over the top of us crying their hawk cry. Sometimes they just sit and wait and watch. I have always loved hawks.

This is one of our morning glory plants. I adore these flowers the beautiful purple and the green heart shaped leaves are just beautiful. The hummingbirds like them too.

We have plenty of hummingbirds flying about. They are so unique.

This is the first year I grew eggplants. Wow! They are amazing plants. These are called finger eggplants. They are small , a beautiful dark purple color. The plants are like trees. Very strong trunks. They have done very well here in Arizona. So we will be planting them again. Also the squirrels don’t like them.

I am so Grateful for our little container garden. I used to have raised beds but because of the gophers, squirrels and grass I had to go a different way. This way is also much easier on my back and knees. Which when you are my age you have to start considering. I love and am grateful for all our beautiful flowers. All the lovely colors and surprises of colors. It’s amazing!

And our sweet fur baby! He loves sitting with us in the garden! He is such a huge joy in our life.

Thanks for stopping in!

Wishing you a beautiful day full of wisdom, insight and much love!

November miracle

It’s November 22nd and gez what a year it has been. We are all trying to find a little hope and peace in the middle of so much suffering. I have been growing a container garden for a couple years now. It’s better for my back and knees at this age. We have had a few frosts this year. The days have been unseasonably warm and these flowers I planted have been thinking about blooming for awhile. Today when I went out at noon to look around this little flower had opened up. How sweet is that?

This sweet little flower is in the same container as the parsley I planted. A few other flowers are thinking of opening up too. Parsley does well in cold weather and frosts but I am so surprised with these flowers. It makes my heart sing with joy! ❀

That’s all ! I wanted to share this with you! You never know what little miracle will come to show you a little joy in life. To remind you it’s all okay even when everything is so uncertain. To be honest uncertainty is part of everyday life.

Be safe, kind and keep peace in your heart!

It’s a beautiful morning!

It’s Sunday morning and all is well around our home. We spent some time in the garden before it gets to hot. I have been planting a fall garden and it’s growing good. The mornings have been so nice and cool. It’s refreshing when fall arrives. The plants are all happy. River is getting to know the bunnies in our yard.

We love getting up with the sun and spending time outside. With fall here and the days getting shorter we will need to change some things but to us it’s important to get out and play outside. When we are done we get busy with beading and making leather bags.

The pictures tell the story. I am grateful for my life. There are many things to be grateful for. The times we are in are pretty weird but all in all you just have to do the best you can and find joy where you can.

Love and peace to you all, be well! πŸ™‚ ❀

Milkweed flowers and seeds

Wishing everyone a beautiful day! Planting and watching things grow is all part of the journey this time of year. Milkweed is a plant that I found out about when I injured my knee some years ago. A friend told me of a place that made a healing balm that helps with pain and helps restore mobility. It is full of antioxidants and packed with omega 3 and omega 7 fatty acids, magnesium, zinc and calcium helping to fight pain and inflammation. This is where you can purchase this balm and seeds if you wish. https://milkweedbalm.com

Milkweed is the sole food for Monarch butterflies. So when planting this beautiful plant you are helping the butterflies migrate to and from Mexico or California.

I have found that this plant, this balm has been very helpful as I have grown older and have some aches and pains. It has also helped to heal my knee.

Last year I decided to grow some in my container garden. I didn’t know how well they would do in Arizona. This year they all came back and are even stronger than last year. The flowers are so very beautiful.

I am thinking of painting this bucket yellow one day. It needs a little makeover. πŸ™‚

This last container has had a slower go of it. It might need a little more sun. It’s at the other end of the garden by some trees. But still very beautiful . I am going to be adding some compost and helping everyone along their way.

I love this plant and everything about it. It brings me joy everytime I look at it’s bright orange flowers.

That’s it for today. πŸ™‚

Love and peace to all! ❀

Flower blessings! ❀
