Good morning friends! It’s been a pretty hot summer here in Cornville Arizona. I am happy to say that our monsoon season is here and we are looking forward to some rain. Today I would like to share one of our latest handbags.
If you love the color red you are going to love this fringed red leather crossbody handbag. The leather is soft and very durable . This deadhead art bag has a Grateful Dead stealie rosette on the front of the bag. This bag is one of a kind and ready to ship.
This is the Grateful Dead stealie beadwork. The cabochon on the front of the bag is a glass cab. I beaded around the glass cab with glass fire polish beads and then glass seed beads. I always lace around my beadworks to give them an extra dimension to the focal point on the bag.
This bag is perfect for a phone and a few other items. It is ready to ship to its new home.
Wishing everyone a beautiful day! Planting and watching things grow is all part of the journey this time of year. Milkweed is a plant that I found out about when I injured my knee some years ago. A friend told me of a place that made a healing balm that helps with pain and helps restore mobility. It is full of antioxidants and packed with omega 3 and omega 7 fatty acids, magnesium, zinc and calcium helping to fight pain and inflammation. This is where you can purchase this balm and seeds if you wish. https://milkweedbalm.com
Milkweed is the sole food for Monarch butterflies. So when planting this beautiful plant you are helping the butterflies migrate to and from Mexico or California.
I have found that this plant, this balm has been very helpful as I have grown older and have some aches and pains. It has also helped to heal my knee.
Last year I decided to grow some in my container garden. I didn’t know how well they would do in Arizona. This year they all came back and are even stronger than last year. The flowers are so very beautiful.
I am thinking of painting this bucket yellow one day. It needs a little makeover. 🙂
This last container has had a slower go of it. It might need a little more sun. It’s at the other end of the garden by some trees. But still very beautiful . I am going to be adding some compost and helping everyone along their way.
I love this plant and everything about it. It brings me joy everytime I look at it’s bright orange flowers.
This is one of our latest handmade, beaded leather messenger bags. It’s a very large fringed bag made in soft burgundy leather and features an extra pocket inside and one on the back of the bag. This messenger bag is all hand stitched.
I started by beading the turtle.
Once the turtle is finished we set it aside. Now we create the bag.
Once the bag is completed I attach the beaded turtle . Once sewn down, I lace around it with leather lace. This gives the bag an extra dimension.
Thanks so much for taking the time to check out this one of a kind messenger bag. This bag is made to order. If you would like a different color or size, feel free to contact us from our website thunderroseleather.com

Spring is here and it feels so awesome. It’s so grounding to work in the garden and play in the dirt. The rose bush is starting to get it’s new leaves and a few seeds are starting to sprout. The first flowers have shown their faces and the weather is warm and cold. Just like spring. We woke up to spring showers with thunder and lightning this morning. The birds are singing strong and all is well. Here are a few spring pictures from our Arizona home.
A beautiful rainbow over house mountain.
Have faith in the beauty that is in your heart. Let it shine ! Know I am always with you in good times and hard times. I am the truth the light and the way. Forever eternal love 🙂 ❤
Sitting on the top of a mesquite tree the large robin red breast is watching over everything.
As the days go by I am forever grateful to be here and to be able to experience all the beauty of Mother Earth and all of life. This is what you can be a part of everyday. Sit with it all. Breath, feel and love. Open the door of your heart and let it all in. Let the sun and air move through you, let the thoughts drift by like clouds in the soft breeze. Listen to the songs of the birds carried by the wind. Go deep and let go.
Wow ! What a month. First check this out. We have had 2 big snow storms this month. That is a record breaker for us. Yesterday, the sun started to show again. Once again, this fine morning, the sun has come in in all his glory.
Just to show you the second snowstorm looked like this. It actually snowed for 2 days. It does melt off pretty fast here in Arizona. 🙂
The little birds were waiting in the tree for the bird feeder to get full. I love watching these little winged ones. ❤
During all this weather we have been beading and sewing. Here a couple bags that are a little bigger than our usual medicine bags. They are 5 inches tall x 3 inches wide with a drawstring closure. They come in a variety of colors and if you prefer a neck strap , no problem. These are new in our Etsy shop.
It’s been a busy week of beading. Beading is an absolute awesome way to center your mind and focus your attention. When beading all I can do is the one thing, well of course I usually put on some background music so I do listen to music. It’s a blessing to be able to do this art. The journey started for me a little more than 30 years ago.
This is the beadwork work in progress I showed you last week. It started with a Thunderbird. I put the beaded Thunderbird on a small leather pouch.
This amulet bag would be perfect for a special stone, crystal , medicine or keepsake. There are as many uses for these kinds of bags.
My work in progress this week is a beaded rainbow turtle. I have finished the turtle and am working on the bag. The bag is also going to have linear beadwork down the sides. Coming soon! 🙂 Here is a picture of the turtle.
